A band from Russia, with this one album released in 2008. Difficult to classify, a post-hardcore style, sometimes screamo, mathcore, noisy, and experimental. It's unusual but quite intense and sometime groovy too!

ONE MORE SEASON : posthumes - CD

 

ONE MORE SEASON was a band from Montpellier (France). Several demos (2 or 3) were released, in a rather screamo hc register. This posthumous album, released in 2007, opts for a slightly more post-hc and ambient style, still with female vocals.

This band was from Besançon (France), and this demo K7 was released in 2000. They played really intense hardcore, with influences ranging from post-hc to emocore.

A split released in 2007 for fans of heavy music. On one side, CROWPATH from Sweden, with a heavy track somewhere between sludge and hardcore. Three tracks for SUBMERGE, from France, with their dark, powerful post-hardcore.

A split CD released in 2001, for these two bands from France. ROMEO IS BLEEDING was from Aix en Provence, while WAITING FOR BETTER DAYS was from Beauvais. Each in their own way, they played a style of hardcore, with strong emo, screamo, posthc or chaotic influences.

TWIST : Coming Closer To Abyss - CD

First album (maxi) for this band from St Etienne, in France, after a demo. This band played a mix of intense post-hc and heavy abrasive noise. It was released in 2000. Afterwards the band opted for a darker and metal sound.

A band from Brussels, whose hardcore had a much more melodic approach, compared to their metalXedge colleagues. A little SHORTSIGHT side sometimes, with a post-hc touch too. It was released in 1997. They didn't release much else.

UPSET / RUBBISH HEAP : split - 7"

 

Split EP released in 1997 on the Conspiracy label. The two bands have similarities. Post-hardcore with more or less noisy, metal, even crust touches. UPSET was from Germany, while RUBBISH HEAP was from Belgium.

CLOUDED : inheritance - 7"

 

A demo and this unique EP, released in 1998 (on Genet rds) for this band from Belgium. If my memory is good, it seems to me that it's a little bit a continuation of KINDRED. We find the same base of newschool and jerky hardcore. The whole is less direct, and we find post-hardcore influences. A good record.

Second EP (after the split with ANANDA) for this band from Reims, France.It played a kind of heavy and tense post-hardcore, with fast and chaotic parts.  They released afterwards other EPs and an album.

NUIT : lituss - CD

This is a band from Czech Republic. They released this record in 2004. Only this record I think. Another band (from Quebec) have the same name, but play black-metal. Our band NUIT play post-hardcore with metal, ambiant or sludge feeling, in the way of NEUROSIS.

ENEMY OF THE SUN: s/t - CD

CD datant de 1998 pour ce combo de Belgique. C'est un peu la suite du groupe KINDRED, newschool HC qui avait sorti un split avec les ricains CULTURE. Avec ce nouveau groupe, si on trouve une certaine base newschool, les compositions sont beaucoup plus complexe, s'ouvrant franchement sur le post-hc, avec des éléments noisy. C'était pas mal du tout, surtout que leur style gardait ce coté haché efficace et un bon chant. Un peu dans un style ala TURMOIL, BLOODLET, SNAPCASE.

Groupe actuel du Mexique, adepte de l'intensité, mixant avec talent post-hardcore, crust, emoviolence, sludge... Peu rappeler du FALL OF EFRAFA et du CATHARSIS!

SARAH: ez eterninmens - CD

Mystérieux groupe Breton se revendiquant à la fois de la frange straightXedge et de l'indépendantisme Bretonne! Certains membres était très actif dans la lutte de libération. Je crois qu'ils écrivaient également un zine, mais je sais plus le nom. Musicalement, SARAH jouait un genre de post-hardcore ala NEUROSIS, teinté d'indus et d'instruments Breton.

HYBRIDE: s/t - 7"

Derrière une superbe pochette, se cache un mystérieux groupe du Quebec à chant mixte. Un genre de post-hardcore sombre et puissant, bien intense. C'est sorti en 1998.
