I believe that this is the only realization, except compilation, for this group from Belgium. Close to the H8000 Crew, MINOTAUR played ultra hardcore metal, with a heavy deathcore tendency.

First demo for this band from Belgium, released on tape in 1997. The band played a newschool hardcore style, with heavy and fast parts, groove and good energy. Afterwards the band took a much more metal turn.

Split EP released in 1998, where we find the Belgians of NEGATE. On the other side, it is NEGATIVE VERDICT, a French band, which was from Paris. Both bands play newschool hardcore perfect for the mosh.

Split dating from 1999 on Genet rds. Two bands with similarities in their respective emo styles. LEIAH are from Sweden, with members of SERENE. Emo that is both sad and catchy. HEBRIANA are from Belgium, and propose post-hc DC style influences in their emo.

We stay in Brussels with this band, whose first CD was released in 1999. Another album followed later, and there are also demos. This band played really metal hardcore, but strong in melody and emotional intensity. For fans of FACEDOWN or MORNING AGAIN.

A band from Brussels, whose hardcore had a much more melodic approach, compared to their metalXedge colleagues. A little SHORTSIGHT side sometimes, with a post-hc touch too. It was released in 1997. They didn't release much else.

KOMBAT / RAPTURE : split - 7"

Two more bands from this very active metal-edge scene of the late 90's in Belgium. This split EP was released in 1999. It plays good hardcore metal, borderline deathcore, between ARKANGEL and LIAR, there is a place for them. KOMBAT released more stuff, RAPTURE just have a demo and this record.

NEGATE : between anger and pain - CD

 

This is a band from Belgium that I listened to a lot. Their demo was a good kill, and this first CD (released in 1998) is a real head turner. Very metal and aggressive hardcore, close to the sound of H8000 Crew but with a little something extra. Then the band evolved towards an even more metal style.

Monsters of the Belgian hardcore metal scene, with this split released in 1997. On one side a piece of CONGRESS, still as furious, and on the other side DEFORMITY with an even more metal, deathcore approach. Good slap for sure!

UPSET / RUBBISH HEAP : split - 7"

 

Split EP released in 1997 on the Conspiracy label. The two bands have similarities. Post-hardcore with more or less noisy, metal, even crust touches. UPSET was from Germany, while RUBBISH HEAP was from Belgium.

CLOUDED : inheritance - 7"

 

A demo and this unique EP, released in 1998 (on Genet rds) for this band from Belgium. If my memory is good, it seems to me that it's a little bit a continuation of KINDRED. We find the same base of newschool and jerky hardcore. The whole is less direct, and we find post-hardcore influences. A good record.

This is the only album for this band from Blegium. They play solid and powerfull hardcore,  with some NYHC and metal touch. In the same way of MERAUDER, OUT FOR BLOOD, HATEBREED, BENSOUSSAN (local heros!!)

ENEMY OF THE SUN: s/t - CD

CD datant de 1998 pour ce combo de Belgique. C'est un peu la suite du groupe KINDRED, newschool HC qui avait sorti un split avec les ricains CULTURE. Avec ce nouveau groupe, si on trouve une certaine base newschool, les compositions sont beaucoup plus complexe, s'ouvrant franchement sur le post-hc, avec des éléments noisy. C'était pas mal du tout, surtout que leur style gardait ce coté haché efficace et un bon chant. Un peu dans un style ala TURMOIL, BLOODLET, SNAPCASE.

SHORTSIGHT: Why Spend Time Learning - 7"

Avec ce vinyle sorti en 1993, SHORTSIGHT est un des groupes précurseur du H8000. Même si ce n'est pas du hardcore newschool typique, l'approche de SHORTSIGHT est assez moderne pour l'époque. Un genre de hardcore alliant mélodies, parties métalliques, compos travaillées... Peut-être à rapprocher des trucs comme NATIONS ON FIRE quoi. Au chant, on trouve la sœur du leader de LIARS.

DEF SOUL: get out of your house - 7"

Très peu d'info pour ce groupe de Belgique. D'ailleurs ce post doit-être une exclue car je crois pas qu'il soit dispo sur le Net. Je les avaient découvert via le zine Earquake, et une des compilation K7 que sortait Fred Lecas. Ce 7" (picture-disc, svp!!) date de 1995. Du hardcore bien urbain, très influencé par le NYHC, lourd et costaud. A voir du coté des MADBALL, OUT FOR BLOOD et autre NEGLECT (moins sombre). Rien d'autre n'est sorti. Bon mosh!!

Très bonne demo pour ce groupe Belge, fer de lance du hardcore Européen de la mi-90, tendance brutal. Sombre, un peu metal, et bien hargneux.

SOLID: darkside moment - CD

Un rip qui n'est pas de moi, mais pas grave. J'avais acheter le CD à l'époque, en 97. Cette version est remastérisée, et est sortie en 2002. SOLID c'était un groupe de hardcore newschool Belge. Très metal donc, même si je crois pas qu'ils étaient réellement affilés au H8000 Crew. D'ailleurs leur son est plus lourd et sombre. Juste excellent pour le sport!
